Huntington Beach · Virtual IOP
Virtual IOP is often the most practical level of care for Huntington Beach residents: it delivers our complete Intensive Outpatient curriculum over secure video, removing the roughly 28-minute drive down I-405 to our Laguna Hills facility entirely. It is the same clinicians, the same evening groups, and the same clinical structure — attended from a home office or study in the city, with no freeway commute at all.

Virtual IOP is the same IOP curriculum delivered via secure video for California residents. It runs 3 evenings/week via secure video, and is one of four levels of care we offer along a continuum from full-day PHP down to weekly aftercare.
Geography is the deciding factor here. A fixed three-evenings-a-week in-person commitment from Huntington Beach can mean close to an hour of driving per session — enough to quietly derail consistent attendance for a time-pressed professional, a parent coordinating dinner and childcare, or an older adult who no longer drives the freeway comfortably. Virtual IOP keeps the full clinical intensity while erasing that commute, and California licensure is satisfied because every Huntington Beach resident attends from within the state.
Virtual IOP runs the same three-evenings-a-week schedule as our in-person program, with identical Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills groups, process groups, and weekly individual sessions. Psychiatric medication-management visits happen by secure telehealth as well, so the entire course of care can be delivered without anyone leaving Surf City.
For the city's mature, professional population, attending from home removes the single biggest obstacle to consistent treatment — the drive — while preserving the structure that makes IOP effective. It fits the realities of Huntington Beach life with unusual precision: the aerospace or corporate professional whose calendar cannot absorb a regular round-trip down I-405, the hospitality manager whose hours shift with the seasons around the pier and Pacific City, and the older adult in Huntington Harbour or Seacliff for whom the freeway has simply become too much. It is also a smooth option if you start in person and later need to travel within California for work during a treatment episode.
Mental-health symptoms and substance use are worked through in the same Virtual IOP track, with one team handling both rather than handing the addiction piece off elsewhere — which matters in a social, active beach community where a drinking habit can hide in plain sight. At intake we make sure telehealth is genuinely the right level of care for what you are facing; some higher-acuity situations are better served by an in-person program first, and we will say so plainly. Detox and residential care are outside what we provide, so when a higher level of medical care has to come first, we arrange that referral before treatment begins.
Virtual IOP runs 3 evenings/week via secure video. The same IOP curriculum delivered via secure video for California residents. Manifest is an outpatient program — not a medical detox or residential facility; when supervised withdrawal is needed first, we coordinate a referral. Insurance verification is free and confidential, and no referral is required to begin.
Virtual IOP is part of a connected continuum of care. Many adults move between levels as their needs change — stepping up to Virtual IOP from weekly therapy, or stepping down to it after a more intensive level. You can read the full program details on our Virtual IOP page.
