Outpatient mental health programs for adults

Our programs in Laguna Hills are designed to match your level of need — from full-day structure to weekly maintenance. You can step up or step down between levels of care without changing providers, so progress is continuous.

Choose the level of care that fits

People come to us at very different points. Some need a full-day program to stabilize before going back to work or school. Others are stable but want a structured group + therapy cadence two or three evenings a week. Most begin in one level and move through others as they recover. We meet you where you are.

How do I know which program is right?

You don't have to figure this out alone. A 20–30 minute call with our admissions team is enough for us to recommend a starting level of care based on what you're going through. The recommendation is free, confidential, and carries no obligation.

The three questions we ask first

  1. What's interfering with your daily life right now? Sleep, work, relationships, motivation, substance use.
  2. What level of structure is realistic? Can you take a few weeks off work for full-day care, or do you need evening groups around a schedule?
  3. What's already been tried? Therapy, medication, prior programs, hospitalizations — context helps us avoid repeating what didn't work.

What every program shares

Across all levels of care, our model is the same: a small clinical team that knows you, evidence-based group therapy as the backbone, individual sessions to do the deeper work, and medication management when indicated. We treat co-occurring substance use as part of the picture rather than handing you off to a separate program.

Programs FAQ

  • What is the difference between PHP and IOP?
A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is the more intensive level — roughly 5–6 hours a day, 5 days a week, with no overnight stay. An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is about 9 hours a week across three evenings, built to fit around work, school, or caregiving. Most people step down from PHP to IOP as they stabilize.
  • Can I keep working or going to school during treatment?
Usually, yes — IOP and Virtual IOP meet a few evenings a week specifically so you can keep your job, classes, or caregiving. PHP is a full-day commitment and is better suited to a few weeks of focused stabilization, often before stepping down to IOP.
  • Does insurance cover these programs?
Most PPO and POS plans cover PHP, IOP, and Virtual IOP after your deductible. We verify your specific benefits for free and tell you what you are likely to owe before you commit, so there are no surprises.
