Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for Laguna Woods residents

Because Laguna Woods is essentially adjacent to our facility, a full-day program is unusually accessible for residents here — and the Village’s own transportation options plus our Virtual sessions help those who do not drive. PHP is often the right level when grief or depression has become severe enough to affect eating, sleep, and safety.

PHP runs roughly five to six hours a day, five days a week, with psychiatric care, individual therapy, and several daily groups. For older adults, the daily structure and frequent clinical contact can be especially stabilizing during an acute episode.

For Laguna Woods residents discharging from a hospital stay, PHP provides the supervised step-down that protects against a rapid return of symptoms. Medication management is handled with particular attention to interactions common in later life.

We are an outpatient program, not a detox or inpatient geriatric-psychiatry unit; when a resident needs that level of care first, we coordinate the referral and welcome them into PHP afterward.
